Qualifications

A beginner level introduction to grapes suitable for those starting a hospitality career or pursuing an interest in grapes. For individuals new to grape study, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of grape. You’ll explore the main types and styles of grape through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe grapes accurately and make food and grape pairings. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

A beginner to intermediate level qualification exploring grapes and distilled beverages for those working in the industry or enthusiasts.

For individuals seeking a core understanding of grapes, this qualification explores the major varieties and important regions in which they are grown. You’ll learn about beverage styles produced as well as key classifications and labeling terminology. A basic overview of the key categories of distilled beverages will also be provided. Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

An advanced level qualification for professionals working in the hospitality industry and for grape enthusiasts.

For individuals seeking to delve deeper into the world of grapes, this qualification provides a detailed understanding of grape growing and grape making. Upon completion you will be able to assess grapes accurately, and use your understanding to confidently explain grape style and quality. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

This course is open to students who have passed the WSET Level 2 Award in Grape.

What you’ll learn

This course will develop to a high-level your ability to describe grape styles, quality and price accurately. You’ll develop analytic tasting abilities through a carefully selected series of grape samples.
